President El-Sisi Meets WEF President

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Saturday 23/11/2024 with President of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Børge Brende in Cairo.
In a statement following the meeting, Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El Shenawy said that Sisi highlighted Egypt's ongoing developmental efforts, particularly in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture projects, which offer significant investment opportunities.
Brende praised Egypt's substantial progress in economic reform and attracting investments, expressing WEF's interest in showcasing Egypt's successful experience in these areas.
Sisi emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and encouraging foreign private sector investments in priority sectors in Egypt, including industry, sustainable energy, communications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and transportation.
The meeting also addressed regional developments, with Brende hearing Sisi’s vision for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
Discussions included the adverse effects of ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the risks of escalation of global economic conditions and the aspirations of regional populations for development and prosperity.
Both sides stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the initiation of a political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as a key guarantee for restoring regional stability and advancing development efforts.
