Sisi: Forced deportation of Palestinians unjust, Egypt can't be part of it
Wednesday، 29 January 2025 - 08:04 PM

President Abdel Fatah El Sisi said on Wednesday that the forced deportation of Palestinians is an unfair process and so Egypt can't be part of it.
During a press conference with his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto, President Sisi reiterated Egypt's unshakable constants that support the Palestinian cause.
The only solution to the Middle East problem is the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital, he said.
The Egyptians, Arabs and world countries have seen injustice against the Palestinian people during the past 70 years, he stressed, adding that any harm to the Egyptian-Jordanian and Arab national security can't be tolerated.

President Sisi stressed Egypt’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, saying "we can never cede or compromise on these constants and when I refer to these constants, I mean the core foundations of Egypt’s stance, which undoubtedly include the establishment of a Palestinian state and the preservation of its essential components, particularly its people and territories.”
He rebuffed current reports about displacement of the Palestinians, saying no one can ever undermine Egypt's national security.
Sisi said he will continue working with US President Donald Trump who is eager to achieve peace through the long-awaited two-state solution. Egypt believes President Trump is capable of realizing this goal by bringing just and lasting peace to the Middle East, he added.
Speaking alongside Kenyan President William Ruto, Sisi said what has been happening in Gaza since October 7, 2023 is the result of a prolonged failure to resolve the Palestinian issue. The root causes of the problem have not been seriously addressed, leading to recurring escalations, as we have recently seen in Gaza.
The only sustainable solution is the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, he said, stressing that these historical rights cannot be overlooked.
He also underscored the importance of fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S., ensuring humanitarian aid access, and launching a political process for a sustainable resolution.
Sisi said he agreed with the Kenyan president on strengthening political dialogue and African cooperation, particularly in security and regional integration as well as implementing the 2063 development agenda goals.
Sisi said talks tackled developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region as the two leaders shared concerns over the increasing security threats in the Red Sea, warning that such challenges risk escalating conflicts and undermining the role of Red Sea littoral states in managing their affairs.
These threats are directly linked to the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Sisi said, describing it as a key factor fueling the region’s security instability.

During the joint press conference with his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto, President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s firm opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians, stressing that the only just solution to the crisis is the two-state solution.
He also highlighted the global recognition of the historical injustice suffered by Palestinians over the past 70 years.
"The world, not just Egypt and Arab nations, acknowledges the oppression of Palestinians. The solution is not to expel them but to establish two states where both Israelis and Palestinians can coexist in peace and security," Sisi stated.
He warned that the destruction in Gaza over the past 15 months appears to be an attempt to make life unlivable, forcing its residents to leave.
"Egypt has consistently warned against any scenario aimed at making Gaza uninhabitable as a pretext for displacement," he said.
He added that the crisis is rooted in decades of failure to resolve the Palestinian issue, leading to frustration and hopelessness. He cautioned against repeating past injustices, stating, "Palestinians were displaced before with promises of return that never materialized. This must not happen again."
Sisi made it clear that Egypt would not participate in any forced displacement. "If such an attempt was made, the Egyptian people would take to the streets in rejection. Egypt will never be part in any injustice committed against the Palestinian people," he asserted.
He welcomed the Kenyan president William Ruto in Egypt, saying his visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of setting up diplomatic relations between the two brotherly countries.
He said the visit reflects the deeply-rooted relations biding the two countries, adding that it provided a chance for holding constructive talks on enhancing bilateral relations in all domains, especially in the defense, security, counter-terrorism, water, culture and education ones.
Talks underlined the importance of increasing trade exchange and boosting investments through the Egyptian companies operating in the Kenyan markets especially in the domains of top priority to the two countries such as infrastructure, agriculture and irrigation.
Talks also tackled the situation in Sudan as the two leaders exchanged viewpoints towards reaching a serious solution to the current conflict in a way that puts an end to the suffering of the Sudanese brethren and opens the door for a political dialogue that materializes the Sudanese people's aspirations for security and stability.
The latest developments of the Nile file figured high during talks between the Egyptian and Kenyan leaders as President Sisi underlined the seriousness of the situation in light of the sharp water scarcity Egypt is suffering from.
President Sisi, at the same time, reiterated Egypt's support of the promising development chances in Nile basin countries as long as they are agreed-upon and are achieved by good and sincere intentions in accordance with the relevant international law.
At the end of the talks, President Sisi expressed hope of further cooperation with Kenya to better serve the interests of the two brotherly nations, wishing the Kenyan people more stability and prosperity.
