Suez Canal Authority Chief discusses joint cooperation with Maersk Group

During a video conference with Mr. Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), emphasized the importance of enhancing joint cooperation with the Maersk Group.



The meeting focused on the latest developments in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb region, assessing their impact on the group's future shipping plans.



At the outset of the meeting, Admiral Rabie underscored the depth of the longstanding strategic partnership with Maersk, a key collaborator in supporting global trade and enhancing supply chains. He expressed his hope that the upcoming period would see further constructive bilateral cooperation at all levels.



Rabie noted that the current situation in the Red Sea region presents numerous positive indicators that should be factored into the development of future navigation plans and schedules.



In response, Mr. Vincent Clerc expressed appreciation for the Egyptian government's efforts to restore stability to the Red Sea region. 





He emphasized the group’s ongoing commitment to monitoring developments in the region and shared his optimism about the progress towards stability. Clerc expressed hope that the coming weeks would bring more calm, which would positively impact the region and freedom of navigation.



Also, Ms. Rabab Boulos, COO and Executive Board Member of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, attended the video conference. She affirmed the group’s close monitoring of developments in the Red Sea, acknowledging the positive progress being made. She also expressed hope for the achievement of long-term stability in the region.
