Youth Minister Meets Wth Ambassador Of The Republic of Djibouti

Dr Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, met with Mr Ahmed Ali Bari, the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Egypt and the Permanent Representative of Djibouti to the Arab League, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of youth and sports between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by several officials, including Advisor Nasser Abdullah Jadidi, Dr Ashraf Al-Bagoury, Head of the Sports Sector, Dr Khaled Masoud, Head of the Youth Sector, Dr Amr Haddad, Head of the Central Administration for Sports Development, Ambassador Abdel Moneim Al-Shazly, and Rania Sami, General Director of the General Administration for International Relations and Agreements.
During the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of strengthening relations between Egypt and Djibouti in various sports, particularly in football, basketball, and swimming, while benefiting from Egyptian expertise in training. Mechanisms for exchanging experiences and visits between the two countries were also discussed.
The Djiboutian side extended an invitation for an Egyptian delegation to visit Djibouti to explore opportunities for joint cooperation. The ambassador also requested mutual support between the Egyptian and Djiboutian candidates for the African Football Confederation (CAF).
he Minister of Youth and Sports highlighted Egypt's excellence in karate, where it ranked first globally, and invited the Djiboutian side to benefit from Egyptian expertise in this field. He also stressed the importance of developing sports personnel and establishing a joint committee to organise workshops and set timelines for exchanging experiences in various sports.
The Minister emphasised the significance of youth exchanges for gaining experiences and invited Djiboutian youth to participate in the "Nasser Grant" and the youth training programmes organized by Egypt.
For his part, the Djiboutian ambassador confirmed the strength of the youth players in his country in football, basketball, and swimming, expressing his country’s desire to sign memorandums of understanding to enhance cooperation in the fields of youth and sports. This was welcomed by the Egyptian side, which confirmed a prompt start to the preparation procedures for these memorandums.
The Djiboutian ambassador also mentioned his country's efforts to develop sports infrastructure in Djibouti and invited the Minister to visit the facility to assess its capabilities.
