Defending champions Al-Ahly earned a vital 2 to 1 victory over Petrojet in the 12th round of the 2024-2025 Egyptian Premier League season.

The match held at AlSalam Stadium in Cairo, saw the Red Devils make the most of their chances.

Emam Ashour opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a precise strike, while Slovenian forward Gradisar, a January signing, doubled the lead in the 66th minute.

Petrojet pulled one back in stoppage time through forward Ahmed Farouk but failed to salvage a point.

With this result, Al-Ahly moved temporary to the top of the league table with 26 points, two points ahead of second-placed Pyramids. Meanwhile, Petrojet remained on 17 points from 12 matches, having won four, drawn five, and lost three, with a goal tally of 11 scored and nine conceded.
