Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi met on Monday 10/3/2025 with the Chairman of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Engineer Yasser Idris, in the presence of the heads of the Egyptian sports federations following the conclusion of elections for all sports federations in their new term. 

At the start of his remarks, the Minister of Youth and Sports congratulated the Chairman of the Egyptian Olympic Committee and some heads of federations for securing positions on the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee after the submission deadline closed and positions were won by acclamation. 

The Minister of Sport pointed out that the recent elections for the sports federations are among the best held in recent years due to their transparency and the wide-ranging changes that emerged, which will help regulate the sports system in the upcoming period. 

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi praised the ongoing and continuous cooperation between the ministry and the Egyptian Olympic Committee, which includes monitoring the plans of the federations and the competitions their athletes will participate in during the coming periods. 

The Minister of Sport stressed the need to start implementing comprehensive development plans for the sports system, particularly concerning national teams across all sports, and achieving further victories for Egyptian sports to meet the aspirations and ambitions by winning championships and medals that will delight the Egyptian public. 

He noted that the ministry has numerous national projects aimed at creating new qualified talents, placing them all at the service of the sports federations across various sports to select the best talents to represent the national teams of Egypt across all age groups. 

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Engineer Yasser Idris, welcomed Dr. Ashraf Sobhi's presence today at the headquarters of the Egyptian Olympic Committee. 

He affirmed the unprecedented positive role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in conducting the elections witnessed by the sports federations in a manner that reflects well on the sports system as a whole. 

He pointed out that there is full cooperation and coordination between the Olympic Committee and the sports federations with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to achieve accomplishments that befit the full support provided by the Egyptian state at all levels.
