Egypt, India discuss deepening economic partnership

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib and Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar expressed their keenness on deepening economic partnership between Egypt and India and expanding joint cooperation horizons to serve the strategic interests of both countries.
This came in a meeting by both ministers to discuss means to boost bilateral ties in both countries in the different domains of mutual interest.
Khatib said that the meeting tackled means of promoting economic and trade relations between Egypt and India and reviewed investment and trade exchange developments between both countries.
The meeting took up the importance of promoting joint efforts to increase the rates of intra-trade between the two countries.
Khatib pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and India reached 4.2 billion dollars in 2024.
Khatib asserted the effective role of the Indian companies in the Egyptian economy, adding that 55 Indian companies invest in the different sectors in Egypt with total investments of 3.75 billion dollars.
Both sides asserted their commitment to boost investment and trade cooperation.
