President El-Sisi receives the Eritrean Foreign Minister

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received, on Saturday 22-03-2025, the Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Hassan Rashad, Head of the General Intelligence Service.
The Official Spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the Eritrean Foreign Minister conveyed to the President the greetings of his brother, Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, which the President appreciated. He emphasized the depth of relations between the two countries and Egypt's keenness to strengthen them in all fields.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the Official Spokesperson, added that the meeting addressed the situation in the Horn of Africa and ways to enhance stability in the region, whether through the joint efforts of the two countries or the tripartite coordination mechanism with Somalia. In this regard, the two sides affirmed Egypt and Eritrea's commitment to supporting Somalia in combating terrorism and preserving the unity and integrity of Somali territory.
The Official Spokesperson explained that the meeting also addressed ways to restore peace and stability in brotherly Sudan, ways to protect the Red Sea and enhance the efforts of coastal states in its governance and security, and the rejection of any non-coastal states playing a role in this regard.
