Madbouly chairs the meeting of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development, attended by Engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Dr.Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Dr. Yasmin Fouad, Minister of Environment, Mr. Mohamed Salah El-Din, Minister of State for Military Production, Engineer/ Mahmoud Asmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Engineer/ Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Mr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Engineer/ Mohamed Shemy, Minister of Public Business Sector, Engineer/ Hassan Al-Khateeb, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Engineer/ Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr. Sherif El-Kilani, Deputy Minister of Finance, Engineer/ Mohamed El-Suwaidi, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Mr. Yasser Sobhy, Deputy Minister of Finance, Ms. Nahed Youssef, Head of the Industrial Development Authority, Major General/ Hazem Farouk, Director of the Civil Protection Department at the Ministry of Interior, and officials from the relevant ministries and authorities.
During the meeting, approval was granted for the establishment of a new project under the name "Alstom Railways Components Manufacturing LLC" in the special free zones system, aimed at creating an industrial complex in the industrial logistics area of Borg Al-Arab City, which includes the establishment of two factories for spare parts for the sixth line of the metro and cables, covering an area of 40 acres.
Engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir presented the key topics on the agenda of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development meeting today, where he reported on the steps and measures taken to utilise land around the sanitary landfill covering an area of 1200 acres in the city of 10th of Ramadan and the establishment of a number of factories around it that rely on recycling landfill waste such as interlock, biogas, fertilisers, and others, as well as the requests submitted by companies to establish waste recycling stations within the project scope.
In the same context, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development presented the executive status of the integrated waste management complex project in 10th of Ramadan, which aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the government's work programme, and the implementation rates concerning the infrastructure works for the integrated treatment facility, which includes utility connections, internal road construction and paving, establishment of the primary wastewater treatment plant, and implementation of irrigation networks for green spaces and trees, as well as models for cooperation between the public and private sectors in executing this project.
In this regard, the Prime Minister directed the preparation of a clear plan for the targeted factories in this framework and their planned production capacity, along with identifying the priorities for the utility network planned for implementation.
During the meeting, Engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir addressed the General Authority for Industrial Development's plan to utilise the lands of the Iron and Steel Company and the Coke Company in the Tebin area, in light of the approval of His Excellency the President of the Republic to allocate the lands of the Iron and Steel Company and the Coke Company in the Tebin area for industrial activities (environmentally friendly), where the plan included a number of procedures and proposals that were agreed upon to implement the presidential directives in this regard.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development also presented the results of the application of the car production incentive and proposals for incentives under the national programme for the development of the automotive industry, where key observations and several submitted proposals were discussed.
