Thursday، 17 April 2025 - 12:47 PM

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a high-level meeting Thursday morning to review key joint files between the Ministries of Finance and Supply and Internal Trade. Present at the meeting were Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Supply Minister Dr. Sherif Farouk, and senior officials from both ministries.
According to Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed Al-Homsani, discussions focused on the availability of subsidised goods, the robustness of strategic food reserves, and the timely payment of wheat supply dues to farmers.
Supply Minister Farouk confirmed that essential subsidised items are available in safe quantities across supply outlets nationwide, with daily monitoring ensuring consistent market stability. He emphasized that strategic stocks of food exceed safety thresholds, maintaining readiness under all conditions.
Regarding the local wheat supply season, Farouk announced that procurement is proceeding at a faster pace than last year, with farmers receiving payments within 48 hours to encourage continued delivery. An increase in supply activity is expected starting April 25.
To streamline coordination, a permanent working group from both ministries has been formed to expedite resolution of shared issues and enhance service delivery for citizens.
