The first groups of Egyptian pilgrims from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are set to start heading back to Egypt tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10th.

This was announced by Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, who leads the NGO Hajj Mission and is a top official at the Ministry of Social Solidarity. Flights bringing pilgrims back from Medina will begin on Saturday, June 14th.

Tomorrow, about 458 pilgrims from Alexandria, Beheira, Qalyubia, and Cairo will fly from Jeddah Airport to Cairo.

Then, this Saturday, around 819 pilgrims from Cairo, Dakahlia, and Sharqia will depart from Medina Airport.

Abdel Mawgoud confirmed that all pilgrims are safe and sound and have successfully completed their Hajj journey. He credited the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s team and the Saudi authorities for making sure everything ran smoothly.

He also assured everyone that the mission will keep looking after the pilgrims until they are all back home. Teams are on the ground in Mecca and Medina to make sure pilgrims are comfortable during their final days there.

The return plan involves close work with airlines and airports to ensure a smooth and organised trip for everyone. The Ministry of Social Solidarity is committed to providing the best service to pilgrims from start to finish.
