Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk has announced plans to introduce a new set of tax relief measures in the upcoming fiscal year, that starts on July 1st, as part of broader efforts to ease the burden on investors and boost trust within the business community.
Kouchouk emphasised the government’s focus on expanding the tax base to create fiscal space for more incentive-driven initiatives. The ministry is striving to simplify procedures and reduce both tax and non-tax obligations for taxpayers.
He noted that a practical programme is underway to consolidate revenue-collecting bodies and cut non-tax burdens, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering a more efficient and transparent tax environment.
He added that the first round of tax relief measures attracted a significant number of new taxpayers and has already had a positive impact. Preliminary results from the initial package will be announced at a press conference before the end of the month.
Kouchouk praised the positive response from businesses and the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), citing a 38 per cent rise in tax revenues over the last ten months without adding new burdens. This shows a strong partnership with taxpayers in Egypt.
