FM asserts Egypt's interest in boosting investments of Norway's Scatec company

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt’s interest in expanding investments of Norwegian renewable energy company Scatec.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog.
The talks focused on the implementation of Scatec’s project to export clean electricity from Egypt to Europe.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to Norway in December 2024 and reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Scatec’s projects.
He said that these efforts contribute significantly to strengthening investment and trade relations between Egypt and Norway.
He outlined the policies adopted by Egypt to empower the private sector and attract more foreign direct investment (FDI), highlighting the country’s commitment to supporting foreign companies, including Scatec, that align with Egypt’s vision for transition to a green economy as well as its ambition to become a global hub for green hydrogen production.
The minister also voiced interest in tripartite cooperation with Scatec in Africa in implementing development projects in the field of renewable energy.
