Contact For Industrial Complex Producing Solar Energy Supplies by "Sunrev Solar"

Egypt’s Prime Minister Witnesses Signing of a Contract For The establishment of a Comprehensive Industrial Complex For the Production of Solar Energy Supplies in Sokhna, Executed by the Chinese Company "Sunrev Solar".
Egypt ‘s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing ceremony Wednesday, June 18,2025 for the project to establish a comprehensive industrial complex for the manufacture of solar energy supplies within the industrial zone of Ain Sokhna, which is part of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The project is being executed by the Chinese company "Sunrev Solar," in the presence of Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The contract was signed by Mr. Tsao Kui, the Managing Director of "Teda," and Mr. Qi Fei, the Managing Director of "Sunrev Solar."
The project includes the establishment of two integrated factories for the production of solar cells with a capacity of 2 gigawatts and solar modules with a capacity of 2 gigawatts as the first phase. The second phase will focus on localising the production of essential raw materials such as silicon ingots and silicon wafers, in addition to the cells and modules in the first phase.
The Prime Minister pointed out the advantages and capabilities of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which contribute to attracting more investments in various sectors. He noted the attention given to the new and renewable energy sector and the efforts to provide more facilities and incentives for this promising sector, highlighting the ongoing efforts to localize the production of various components and supplies for new and renewable energy projects.
In the same context, Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din explained that this project is one of the largest industrial investments in the field of renewable energy supplies within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, as it will be established on an area of 200,000 square metres, with total investments estimated at 200 million US dollars, divided into two phases: 90 million dollars for the first phase and 110 million dollars for the second phase.
The project is expected to provide more than 1,800 direct job opportunities during its two phases, along with generating significant added value through the export of its products to regional and international markets, with expected annual revenues reaching 300 million dollars.
Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din added that the groundbreaking for the project will take place tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, 2025, with the first phase of the project expected to commence operation during the first half of 2026.
