Awqaf Ministry: New Digital platform seeks to combat extremism, promote moderation
Thursday، 19 June 2025 - 12:39 PM

“The Awqaf Ministry's new digital platform aims to combat all forms of extremism and promote the moderate teachings of Islam,” said Awqaf Ministry Spokesman Osama Raslan on Thursday 19/6/2025.
"The main reason behind launching this platform is to reclaim the vast online space, much of which is either empty or dominated by content that promotes hatred and extremist ideologies," Raslan said in statements to Extra News channel.
He added that many of the top search results online often lead users to sites containing extremist narratives.
"The project began intensive development in July 2024 under the guidance of Osama el Azhari, Advisor to the President for Religious Affairs and a prominent scholar. It involved the compilation of a vast amount of scholarly material, forming a comprehensive digital encyclopedia, presented in a contemporary, accessible format for young people, to prevent radicalization and foster sound human development," Raslan said.
“Launched on June 18, the platform will enter its second phase of development, including further expansion and content upgrades within six months,” the spokesman said.
By January 2026, the ministry plans to convert the platform into a mobile application, integrating artificial intelligence features to enhance its interactive capabilities and outreach, Raslan went on to say.
