PM inspects Africa, Middle East's first ultrasound, MRI device factory

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected on Thursday 19/6/2025 a project to establish the first factory in Africa and the Middle East for manufacturing ultrasound devices (sonar) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines, located in the 6th of October City.
The project marks an important step to enhance Egypt’s position as a regional hub for medical technology.
The premier underlined that the Egyptian state is making serious strides towards localizing many important industries and pushing forward industrial development, with the participation of both local and foreign private sectors, which have become strategic partners in various developmental projects implemented by the state.
He highlighted the state's deep interest in localizing vital industries and strengthening international partnerships.
During the inspection tour, the premier was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Wazir as well as Giza Governor Adel Naggar, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority Ali Ghamrawy and Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management Hisham Stait.
