Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir Thursday 19/6/2025 affirmed government's commitment to boosting cooperation with private sector companies to modernize the passenger transportation fleet and ensure the provision of premium quality services.

The minister added that efforts aimed at enhancing cooperation with the private sector fall within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to localize key industries, including the bus manufacturing sector and turning Egypt into a regional industrial hub.

Wazir made these remarks while inspecting 20 newly manufactured Mercedes MCV 600 air-conditioned super high-deck buses that are fully produced locally by the Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV)

The inspection tour was attended by Deputy Transport Minister for Land Transport Magdy Abdel Hamid, Land Transport Regulatory Authority Head Diaa Mostafa, Chairman of the Arab Union for Land Transport Company (SuperJet) Hassan el Leithy and ACTA For Public Transport Chairman Sabry Abdel Latif.

Promoting cooperation with the private sector companies falls within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s strategy to enhance the capabilities of its affiliated companies’ bus fleets, by integrating state-of-the-art vehicles that will significantly improve the public land transport system across the country, Wazir said.

He added that each of the new buses is equipped with 49 seats, bringing the number of SuperJet's modern and high-quality buses to 242.

The buses vary in models and sizes, but all are designed to provide maximum comfort, safety, and luxury, ensuring smooth, efficient travel experiences for passengers across Egypt, the minister said.
