Madbouly follows up on efforts to resolve financial entanglements between several government entities

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, held a meeting today to review efforts to resolve financial entanglements among various government entities.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Mahmoud Issmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mr. Ahmed Kouchok, Minister of Finance, Eng. Sherif El-Sharbin, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Mr. Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohamed Ragab, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Head of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Infrastructure Budgets Sector at the Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Walid Abdullah, Head of the General Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the state's ongoing efforts to implement the necessary measures and steps that would contribute to resolving financial entanglements among various government entities, noting that these measures are part of the economic and structural reforms being implemented across different sectors, aiming to eliminate the distortions that these sectors have suffered from for some time, which hindered the improvement of the services provided through them.

Mr. Mohamed El-Homsany, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s office, stated that today’s meeting reviewed the outstanding debts owed by the Ministry of Electricity for electricity consumption by several ministries and government entities, as well as the means and mechanisms for settling these debts owed to the electricity companies, and the possible reconciliations that can be made in this regard, which would contribute to resolving these financial entanglements and collecting dues, in an effort to improve the level of services provided through these important sectors by enhancing their financial capacities to achieve more operational goals effectively and efficiently.
