Geographic Location: Morocco lies in the far-north of west Africa, bordering Algeria from east and south-east, Mauritania and Western Sahara region from south and it overlooks both Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean from north.

Geographic Area: 446,550 km2.

Population:34,343,219 (July 2007 est.)

Ethnic groups: Arab-Berber.

Languages: Arabic (official) – Berber dialects-French.

Historical glimpse: In 1912, the French imposed a protectorate over the country. A protracted independence struggle with France ended success-fully in 1956 and Morocco was proclaimed an dependent monarchy. On its throne ascended King Mohammed I. Today’s Head of state is King Mohammed VI, since (July 30, 1999).

Agricultural Products: Barely-wheat-citrus-vegetables- olives and livestock.
