Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker and Egyptian Businessman Naguib Sawiris witnessed on Sunday 15/3/2015 the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and Orascom company to allocate a piece of land to build a power plant.

The power plant is operating with solar energy and will be established in Kom Ombo city of Aswan governorate and will generate 50 megawatts at a cost of about 100 million dollars.

This came on the sidelines of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC).
