Eng. Sherif Ismail has been assigned by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to form a new government on September 12, 2015.

Eng. Sherif Ismail was born in 1955. He graduated from Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shames University in 1978.

Ismail had worked for Enpi Company from 1979 till 2000 and occupied the post of director general of technical affairs and board member of Enpi.Ismail also worked as undersecretary for the petroleum ministry from 2000 till 2005 and a board chairman of Egas from 2005 till 2007.
The newly appointed premier also occupied the post of board chairman of Ganoub el Wadi (South Valley) Oil Holding Comany from 2007 till 2013. He was later appointed as petroleum minister in outgoing prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab's government in 2013.
