Woman Harvest
Over the past year 2018, a community-based energy has been contributed to achieving what a woman aspires to. The Egyptian woman has attained a distinguished position and has demonstrated her ability to rise to the senior leadership positions. This year, one quarter of government members are women, 8 ministers in one government:
The eight ministers are:

Laws issued in the year 2018 for the sake of women
President Sisi signed law No. 30 / 2018 on regulating the activities of the National Council for Women (NCW). The law stipulates dissolving the council with the continuation of it current formation while its members will continue their mission until their legal term expires.
The law also stipulates that the employees of the council will be transferred to the new council with their current posts and financial positions.
In parallel with Egypt's vision 2030 and its strategy for sustainable development, which seeks to build a just society that guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, the new formation of the governors of Egypt came on 30 August 2018 to represent the woman strongly in the movement of new appointments including governors and their deputies.
Governor of Damietta
Egypt’s new reshuffle of governors has led to the appointment of its first-ever female Christian governor, Dr. Manal Awad Mikhael.
The new governor of Damietta will also be Egypt’s second-ever female governor, after Beheira Governor Nadia Abdo.
The latest governors’ reshuffle has included six deputy governors who were members of the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP), a move viewed by a number of lawmakers as a “good step” towards youth empowerment.

From the Presidential Leadership Program PLP, Hanan Magdi was selected to be Deputy of the Governor of the New Valley.
Iman Omar Rayan
Iman Omar Rayan the new Deputy Governor of Qalyoubia Governorate, becoming the youngest to hold such position.
Yousra Attia
Yousra Attia Mohamed Deputy Governor of the Red Sea Governorate.
Nehal Balbaa
Deputy Governor of Giza governorate
Lamiaa Ahmed Abdel-Qader was appointed Deputy Governor of Giza Governorate.
The year 2018 witnessed intensive activity of the National Council for Women, where many campaigns were launched, including the campaign of your voice to Egypt (Sawtak Le Misr Bokra) in various governorates. It was aimed at encouraging women to participate in the presidential elections.
Under the slogan "Kony", the National Council for Women hosted an event on 25 November, the international day for the elimination of violence against women.
“16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence” under the global theme “#HearMeToo”. The event took place at the backdrop of the majestic Giza pyramids lit up in orange, symbolizing a bright future free from violence against women and girls.
In the framework of the fruitful and constructive cooperation among the Ministry of Endowment (Awqaf) and the National Council for Women and the Egyptian Churches for the service of our country, on 10 December 2018, the program "Together to serve our country" was launched and work to spread the tolerance of religions and awareness of family issues and to emphasize religious and moral principles and values in order to maintain strength of its construction, security and social safety.
Mastoora project for women's empowerment
The Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund has released EGP 50 million into the Nasser Social Bank, which is the third tranche meant to go to the Mastoora project for women's empowerment. The EGP 50 million is part of an EGP 250 million loan.
Female bread winners between the ages of 21 and 60 are eligible to apply for a soft loan of between EGP 4,000 and EGP 20,000 for their startups.
The “Mastoora project provides economic opportunities for female breadwinners, who have no permanent income, to cope with the daily burdens,”
The Mastoora initiative has already helped with the birth of around 12,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) funded at EGP 189 million.

Maya Morsi, Chairperson of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW), has been awarded “Women of the Decade in Public Life and empowerment” by the Women Economic Forum (WEF 2018) in the Indian Capital New Delhi.

In May 2018 President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi issued a decree appointing Dr. Rasha Ayad Ragheb Khalil as the Executive Director of the National Academy for Youth Training and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Sherifa Fouad Sherif: Executive Director of the National Management Institute; the first woman to be appointed to this position.
Chancellor Hasnaa Shaaban
Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali received the World Health Organization (WHO) award for the most influential ministers in the health sector, the Public Health Champion Award. Wali won this award in recognition for her efforts in the fight against addiction.
L'Oréal Egypt and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced the election of the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr as the Honorary Ambassador for the L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Program.
