The bilateral Egyptian-Hungarian educational relations are prosperous as mutual visits of university delegations aim at accrediting certificates and diplomas, and agreeing on exchanging programmes either at the vocational, technical or postgraduate studies levels.

Within the framework of the Executive Programme of the Cultural and Educational Cooperation Agreement for 2008-2010, both countries regularly exchange students; 15 Hungarian students obtain Egyptian scholarships in Egyptology and Arabic language, and Egyptian students are dispatched to Hungary to obtain 60-month scholarships in physics and mathematics.

In 2008/2009, 14 Egyptian students obtained scholarships, most of them were for the whole academic year, and 17 students obtained scholarships in 2009/2010. The Egyptian Minister of Higher Education is expected to visit Hungary in 2010 to sign the new Executive Programme for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

There is preliminary cooperation between the Supreme Council of Universities and the Hungarian University Deans Council, and both sides are considering a Memorandum of Understanding to set the legal framework of mutual cooperation.

With the objective of enhancing scientific and technical cooperation with Hungary, and as a result of former President Mubarak's visit to Hungary, a delegation from Polytechnik Budapest visited Egypt on January 6th to 14th, 2010, to sign a cooperation protocol with the Faculty of Engineering, 10th October University for teaching Communications Engineering and Automatic Control, and accrediting certificates.

The delegation was headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, his deputy, Electrical Engineering Professor Dr. El-Sayed Hassan, and Head of the Arab Communities Association.

The Hungarian Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs visited Egypt in November 2009 hold talks on accrediting the technical certificates of the Cairo Maintenance School and Ismailia School to allow the Egyptian students to get trained in Hungary and access the Hungarian labour market and consequently the EU labour market.

There is a 9-year old cooperation between Kando Kalman University of Technology and 10th of Ramadan Technological Higher Institute, according to which 24 Egyptian students are annually dispatched to get trained in applied and practical engineering sciences.

In the same context, 50 Hungarian students visit Egypt for a two-month summer training in the Hungarian engineering companies, under the supervision of the Hungarian institute. Kando Kalman University of Technology and Suez Canal University cooperate in the field of e-learning.

Delegations comprising Egyptian University Professors visit Hungary to sign cooperation and students exchange protocols, such as, the delegations of the 10th of Ramadan Technical Higher Institute, Asyut University and Delta Academy, Mansoura branch.

The delegation signed a protocol on exchanging professors and students between the Academy and Eger University in the fields of information technology and mass media.

The Egyptian Antiquities Authority cooperates with the Egyptology Department at ELTE University.

Due to opening new departments teaching in English at the Hungarian universities,   a limited number of Egyptian undergraduate students joined them. Furthermore, universities and available international universities' branches ensure advanced academic levels at competitive fees if compared to similar universities in Western Europe.
