 The year 2016 is well known as the year of Egyptian British research where about 30 memo’s of understanding were signed between Egyptian and British universities.

 Among the important projects accomplished through the Egyptian-British partnership:

 The Newton- Mesharafa  Fund for science and innovation worth of £ 20 million in 2014.

 Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in cooperation with the British Center, announced the opening of the "Religious Studies" grant for 2017, under the sponsorship  of His Eminence, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb and the Archbishop of Canterbury, to enhance joint cooperation between Muslims and others. Students will study theology, comparative religions, the philosophy of religions, the history of religions, and anthropology.
