On 4/9/2015: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a summit meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodoto discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. The talks also focused on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

On 22/6/2015: A high-level Indonesian delegation led by Indonesian presidential adviser meets with Al-Azhar Undersecretary Abbas Shoman, on behalf of Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb, along with Awqaf Minister Mokhtar Gomaa and Mufti of the Republic Shawqi Allam. Their talks focused on means to boost cooperation between Egypt and Indonesia along with a number of Islamic issues of mutual interest in addition to the latest developments on the Islamic, Arab and international arenas.

On 25/4/2015: Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab visited Indonesia to attend the Asian-African Conference, also known as Bandung Conference, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

On 21/3/2015: Indonesian president's special envoy to the Middle East Alwi Shihab handed over an invitation to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi from his Indonesian counterpart to attend the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference (1955) and the 10th anniversary of the new strategic partnership between Asia and Africa in Jakarta and Bandung on April 22-24.

On 22/3/2015: Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayyed conferred with Indonesia's presidential envoy Alawi Abdel Rahman Shihab on means of bolstering cultural and religious cooperation between the two sides and the role of Al-Azhar in the Islamic world.
