On 1/6/2015, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully who visit Egypt. The President welcomed New Zealand's top diplomat and shed light on relations of friendship between the two countries, hailing New Zealand's participation in the Multi-national Force of Observers (MFO) in Sinai.

On 1/6/2015, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri met with New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully. The two sides held an official session of talks on bilateral relations, especially in the field of trade and consultations between the two sides at international forums taking into consideration Egypt's nomination for a non-permanent seat at the Security Council 2016-2017.

On February 28th, 2010, the bilateral relations gained momentum through the visit of the New Zealand Foreign Minister to Cairo. During his visit, the New Zealand Minister discussed regional issues and bilateral relations, and announced New Zealand's readiness to present financial support worth $ 200,000 to Egypt, to assist in the demining efforts in the North Coast.

In February 2010, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs visited the New Zealand capital Wellington.

From 29th to 31st October 2009, New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Hamilton visited Egypt, where he headed the New Zealand delegation to the Second Round of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of both countries. During the consultations, both sides exchanged viewpoints on regional and international issues of common concern, and discussed ways and means of supporting bilateral relations.
