Fifth session of the Mechanism for Political Consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries was held in Astana during the visit of the Assistant of Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs in January 2008.

Fourth session of the Joint Committee between the two countries was held in February 2007 in Astana, taking into account that preparations are going on now for the fifth session of the Joint Committee which will be held in Cairo in November 2010.

In September 2006, the Parliament of Kazakhstan has nominated 21 deputies to represent the Kazakh side in the Assembly of Parliamentary friendship between Egypt and Kazakhstan. This assembly was established according to an idea which was initiated in June, 2006, during the meeting of H.E. Mrs Faiza Abul Naga Minister of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt with H.E. Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
