Orabi Pasha Cultural center is one of the most important cultural centers in the whole island, Arabic courses are held there as well as a lot of cultural events, also a celebration for the memorial of Ahmed Orabi Pasha Arrival to is held every year.
Al-Azhar grants 15 Scholarships for Sri Lankan students every year in addition to training the Muslim preachers. Al Azhar Mission in is compromised of 27 preachers as well as their head and secretary.
The for Agriculture grants 8 scholarships to every year.
The Muslim Sri Lankan officials attend the Annual Conference for the Council of Supreme Islamic Affairs every year, some of those prominent officials are Hon. Alawi Mawlana Governer of the Western Province, and Hon. Fawzi Abl El Hamid, Minister of Disaster Relief.
Bilateral Cultural Relations
- The Minister of Culture of Sri Lanka visited Egypt in January 2007 where he signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministries of Culture in Egypt and Sri Lanka.
- Al Azhar Al Sharif offers 15 scholarships for Sri Lanka students annually, further to time framed training courses for preachers and Imams at Al Azhar. A 17 person mission instructed the teachings of Islam together with the Arabic Language. The Egyptian International Agricultural Centre offers 8 scholarships annually to training Sri Lankan Cadres from the Ministry of Agriculture.
- The Egyptian International Agricultural Centre offered scholarships to Sri Lanka and were increased to 10 in 2010.
