At the end of 2004 Togo nominated its Ambassador to Libya to represent his country in Egypt as a non-resident representation, which was approved by the Egyptian authorities. The two countries have good relations at the political level where the viewpoints meet in most regional and international issues. In addition, Togo does not follow any policy that would affect the Egyptian interests; yet, it constantly supports the Egyptian Candidates before the international and regional forums and organizations.
